KENNEDY HIGH the global school celebrated India’s 74th Republic Day with a lot of zeal and vigour. The students put up a short and soul stirring presentation on patriotism.
The programme began with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Chairman, Sri. S. Jamala Reddy, followed by National Anthem. In his speech Chairman Sri. S. Jamala Reddy shared his thoughts on democracy, saying that we are fortunate to have been born in the world’s largest democracy. He also said that one’s personal growth leads to the growth of the country and this can be achieved only by continuous learning. He also emphasised that we should not rest on our laurels but keep striving harder towards a better future and encouraged the students to do their bit for the country by studying hard, keeping the surroundings clean and acting in a responsible manner.
Principal Ms. Rajyalaxmi Bhat wished the students and in her speech told the children that one must fulfil one’s duties diligently while enjoying the rights. She added that as future citizens of the country, they need to uphold good values and give back to the society as this leads to their becoming a good human being.
The songs and dances by the students filled everyone with pride for the rich Indian heritage and culture. They presented a dance on the patriotic songs showcasing their love for their country. This was accompanied by the soothing Patriotic songs by the choir and a majestic welcome dance performance of students. The students gave eloquent speeches.
Overall, there was an extremely enthusiastic participation from the students.
The celebrations closed with the distribution of Sweets.
