KENNEDY HIGH the global school organised a Professional Development Workshop for the teachers of Cambridge wing on 21 April 2025, titled, “Underpinning Metacognition Approach through Cambridge Resources”. The workshop focused on the role of Metacognition in holistic child development and was led by Ms. Sinjini Dutta, an esteemed trainer in the field. She was accompanied by Arshiya Fathima, the Cambridge University Press Territorial Manager for South Asia.
The workshop focused on empowering teachers with innovative strategies to boost student engagement and create a more interactive learning environment. Participants explored metacognitive approaches including self-questioning, reflection, and planning, designed to cultivate critical thinking, creativity, and student-centred learning. By incorporating these strategies, teachers can help students develop a deeper understanding of their own learning processes, leading to more effective and autonomous learning. The workshop also emphasised the importance of differentiation to cater to diverse student needs, ensuring that all learners have the opportunity to thrive.
Throughout the session, teachers engaged in hands-on activities and interactive discussions, exploring how to implement these strategies in their classrooms effectively. The workshop provided valuable insights and various resources available in the Cambridge Go website that teachers can use to create a more engaging and inclusive educational experience for their students. Overall, the workshop was a significant step towards enhancing the teaching practices at KENNEDY HIGH, ensuring that educators are well-prepared to meet the evolving demands of modern education.
