KENNEDY HIGH believes that the overall health and well-being of students and staff is of paramount importance and therefore, every year it takes the celebration of International day of Yoga as a wonderful opportunity to promote healthy living through yoga.
This year saw the celebrations begin with great enthusiasm on 16 June 2025 where students of class IV were engaged in performing Tadasana variations (Tadasana, Parvatasana, Tiryak Tadasana),Vrikshasana and Trikonasana. The students of class IX were administered the Yoga Pledge by the Academic Director and Senior Principal, Ms. Rajyalaxmi Bhat.
On Tuesday, 17 June 2025, the students of class X engaged themselves in doing Ardha chakrasana and Kati chakrasana.
Wednesday, 18 June 2025, saw students of class V doing Paschimottanasana, Ustrasana and Padmasana, while class VI got busy doing Sukhasana, Vajrasana, Ustrasana and Pranayama.
Class VIII students came together on Thursday, 19 June 2025 to perform Kati chakrasana, Ardha chakrasana, Trikonasana and Virabhadrasana, whereas students of class VII were busy doing Tadasana variations, Vajrasana and Ustrasana. Students of class I were full of energy while doing Padmasana, Sukhasana, Vajrasana, Paschimottanasana and Ustrasana and the senior most students from class XI -XII, engaged themselves in performing Ardha chakrasana and Kati chakrasana.
Morning meditation is a part of KENNEDY HIGH and the celebration week was no exception. Middle school students also participated in an art activity where they had to create posters based on this year’s theme of IDY, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
Teachers were also involved in performing yoga asanas under the supervision of yoga instructors.
21 June 2025 saw parents joining hands with their wards at home to practice yoga asanas and mediate for a healthy life.
IDY competitions organized by the Ministry of Ayush on MyGov platform like e poster making, essay writing, jingle/yoga geet and yoga quiz were also shared by the school with the students and they were encouraged to participate in the same. Teachers and parents were encouraged to download the Namaste Yoga App.
All in all, 2043 students and 73 teachers participated in the celebration.
